Van Dyk Smit Financial Services was originally known as Van Dyk Accountants and was established during January 1996 by Sybrand van Dyk. He is registered with SAIPA (South African Institute of Professional Accountants) and is also an approved training centre, who train students to become Professional Accountants.
He completed his Honours Baccalaureus Computationis at Unisa and did his articles with a chartered accounting firm in Lichtenburg. He has wide experience in tax matters as he completed his military service at the South African Revenue Services. He also worked in a Corporate Environment for a few years before practicing full time.
During 2022, Hendrik Smit joined the firm. He is registered with SAICA (The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants). He completed his articles at PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) in 2019 and afterwards completed the additional required managerial years and core audit hours to be eligible to register with IRBA (The Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors).
He started with PwC in 2017 and obtained experience in auditing of public and private companies as well as trusts and obtained experience in multiple reporting frameworks including IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), IFRS for SME’s and Basis of Accounting.
The firm deals with a variety of clients including, construction companies, attorneys, religious institutions, schools, NPC’s, manufacturing companies, service companies, retailers and others. The corporation offers a one stop service to clients as tax practitioners, accounting officers, bookkeepers, auditors, payroll administrators, executors of estates and drafting of testaments and trusts.
We handle all registrations and monthly statutory returns like VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL, as well as company and trust registrations and changes and also Workman’s Compensation registrations and returns.
